GROS 2019 Auction artwork

We’re continuing our Fall orchid season this year with the annual GROS Auction. Come join your fellow members for an evening of great orchids and great fun! With many wonderful plants up for bid, everyone is sure to find a healthy, beautifully grown orchid – at an affordable price, too! You’ll be able to bid on plants that our buying power as a club brings to our members & friends at truly spectacular savings. If you’ve been paying attention at our meetings, many of the spectacular orchids seen on the Show Tables have been Auction plants bought by our members.

The Auction is a wonderful way to add to your orchid collection at very reasonable cost. Remember, every plant you buy at the Auction helps the GROS in running our many yearly activities. If you have friends who might be interested in our Auction, bring them along! The Auction is open to everyone, free of charge.

A list of plants up for auction is available for download here. Plants will be available for preview at 6:00 p.m. and bidding begins at 6:30.

For those of you who’ve never attended one of our auctions, there will be orchids for windowsill, under-lights and greenhouse growers, orchids for experts, orchids for beginners – orchids for everyone! We will have a good selection of both hybrids and species, with some plants in bud and bloom!

Jeff Snyder, our own MC extraordinaire, will once again preside over the proceedings, but the best part (maybe not as entertaining as Jeff …) is that you just never know what you’ll find!

Kim Hober, our Auction Czarina, is still actively seeking donation plants from members, so if you’ve got some plants to donate, please contact Kim.

Please bring food! So we have a variety, if your birthday month is an even number (February, April, June, August , October or December), please bring a sweet food. If your birthday month is an odd number (January, March, May, July, September, November) please bring something savory. The GROS will provide coffee, tea and cider.

  • LOCATION: Jewish Community Center Auditorium C
  • There will be no regular meeting, and no Orchids 101 Meeting in December.
